Day 2

just a quick one again...I saw Tim Holtz today!! He is fun :))) Otherwise I have been walking the floors of CHA again and found lots of great products. I must have walked quite a few kilometres in the last few days...I suppose that is a good thing. It just makes me realize how little I usually walk, I jump in the car for every little errand I need to do. Do we see a new years resolution coming? No, I wouldn't go that far :) How about some pictures?
The first one shows a sample from Heidi's booth, her products were a real surprise to me. I'm glad I went to see her booth. What you can see here is a sample of her 'Invisible' paper. Basically it has a resist image on it (in this case the circle) and when you ink the paper the image will stay white and the background will take on the colour of your ink. Very cool! She also has chipboard letters that work like this.

The next pic is from the Fancy Pants Booth. How cool is this Window frame? I will definitely need a couple for my house!

And the last pic for today is from the Crate Paper booth, a Layout from one of their beautiful new lines.

Better get some sleep now so I can go find some more beautiful things tomorrow :)

CHA Day 1

As promised I will post a quick update everyday...Day 1 was busy! I have seen a lot of new product that I really liked...LYB, Maya Road, Fancy Pants to name a few. How to annoy your parents

Bolt and Mittens

Anyone seen the Kids movie 'Bolt' yet? I just loved 'Mittens' the cat! A great movie to see these school holidays, try to see it in 3D, well worth it.
Otherwise we are keeping busy catching up with friends and swimming in the pool, especially these last few days.
I have done another LO with the same papers as the LO in the previous post, just love the 'Spaceboy' and 'Little Guys' papers from Prima. Great for boy pages!

A very unconventional Christmas

I know it is a bit late for a Christmas post but time just gets away sometimes! We've had the best Christmas in a long time (at least I thought so) and all because we decided to have a very quiet Christmas Day. The kids got up at 7.30am and we opened presents for the next hour. Max and Romy got an iPod Shuffle each as well as some toys and books. They were really pleased with what Santa had chosen and played for the next few hours with all their new stuff. The house has been very quiet as well since they had their iPods stuck to their ears the whole time! So off I went to have a little morning snooze and the next thing I know I woke up at 11.30. I thought I better get up and make some lunch so I grabbed a Pizza and put it in the oven! We all went for a long swim in the pool in the afternoon and some more playtime. All in all a very relaxing day. I know there was no traditional lunch but I think the kids couldn't care less and we had a much more relaxing day without all the cooking. Selfish? Maybe a little. But we had a big Christmas Eve at my sister in laws place with the whole family and a wonderful Boxing Day at my Father in Laws farm. After all it is supposed to be about Family and spending time together. And we certainly did that.
And I even had some time to create...Happy New Year!

School holidays

Finally the kids are on holidays. They have been getting very tired and grumpy in the last two weeks and were definitely ready for a break. And I enjoy the sleep ins :) The party season is starting and we are having Christmas BBQ's and celebrations for the next 5 days I think. There goes my diet...
Some other exciting news...I will be traveling to CHA (25th - 28th January) this year for the first time, I'm sooo looking forward to seeing all the new products first hand and I will update my blog with pictures while I'm over there. If anyone is going to CHA and wants to catch up just send me an e-mail to katja@designingmemories.com.au...

December Kit

Once again a long time between posts! Same story, different time:) There is a lot happening at the moment at our house. Our beautiful dog 'Cooper' was hit by a car a few days ago and just came home today. I'm being a nurse at the moment with open wounds that have drainage in them etc. I don't want to get into detail but it really is not a pretty sight! His tail will possibly have to be amputated and the Vet is not sure if they have to take part of the skin on his leg off as it seems to be dying (it is actually black). On to better news...tomorrow my parents will arrive from Germany to stay with us for 3 weeks. I look forward to spending some time with mum and dad. The kids have been counting down the days too.

I am doing a course at the moment that I've been meaning to do for a long time. Digi in Deep is an advanced Digital Scrapbooking Course by

Jessica Sprague.

It is very time consuming but I'm learning so much at the moment and all the course contents will be accessible for ever which is great when I need to refresh my memory on some techniques. This is the LO from the first lesson of the course and the second LO is a practice of some the techniques learned...

School holidays are over and once again we are rushing around in the mornings, some things don't change :)
Steve went on a trail bike ride during the holidays somewhere up in the desert and managed to fracture his ankle and tear some ligaments in his knee as well as get a 10 cm long blood clot in his calf. He had to ride his bike with a broken ankle for 300km's to the next medical station. Ouch!! The last few days were spent at doctors and hospitals getting xRays and MRI's done. Tomorrow he will get operated on to put some screws in his ankle. I'm almost a qualified nurse by now :)
To cheer myself up I have booked myself into a

digital course by Jessica Sprague

that I wanted to do for a long time. Think I will get the time? I will take the time! Looking really forward to learning some new stuff.

Another share...

I thought I would share another LO that I did for a 'For Keeps' assignment a little while back. I'm not sure which issue it was in.
The kids are on school holidays at the moment and we are enjoying the sleep ins and not rushing around. I've been scrapping quite a bit in the last couple of weeks but nothing that I can share just yet :)

Cold

It's getting too cold for me at this time of year. Anything under 20 Degrees is too cold in my opinion. And Winter has only just started. Everything seems a littler harder in winter...getting out of bed in the mornings, more clothes to put on the kids, the flu going around at school. One thing seems to be more fun though...locking myself into my scrapbooking room and creating. And I have been doing quite a bit of that lately :)

Computer trouble

Well...I was trying to upload the July Kit tonight without much luck. I'm not sure where exactly the problem is but it seems I can't log into the program that allows me to change the site over. I will now have to wait until Monday to contact the people that host my site. I will still show you what the Kit looks like though :)
