    Another month

...is here and I'm not sure where the time goes at the moment. Jo, Annette
  • (Memories2Remember)
  • and I have returned from a very successful Stitches & Craft Show in Brisbane and are now preparing for the Australasian Scrapbooking Convention in June in Brisbane. Come and say hello if you get a chance!
Another month also means another Kit from
  • Designing Memories
  • . We have some exciting new products in this months Kit. You will love the Glitz it Roller Doodles in our Main Kit and all the other new Glitz it products in our Add-On Kit. The Pink Paislee and Sassafras Lass papers make for a beautiful teal and green colour combo.

I haven't posted any work lately so here is one of my favourites, published in this months For Keeps. Have a great week!

    Sharing

I've had a little time on my hands last week and enjoyed playing with some digital elements and some new Fancy Pants products. I'm combining the digital and physical products a lot these days. It is great to get a LO done in Photoshop and then finish it off with some embellishments. I don't have a large printer either, I'm printing my pages out in 2 parts and then connecting them in the least visible spot. So here are the digi versions and the hybrid version with some physical elements added to it. The LO is based on sketch 77 from the
  • Pencillines Blog.

  • And another LO just for fun with some new
  • Fancy Pants rub-ons
  • and
  • October Afternoon papers.

    Flu

I've just had the worst flu over Easter. Spent most of the time in bed, which would have been good if I had the energy to at least watch a movie and eat chocolate. But most of the time I waited for the cold and flu med to perform some kind of miracle. Anyhow, I'm better now and even have a LO to share that I did just for me using some of the new Fancy Pants papers and a Glitter Cut. Have you seen the new Glitter Cuts? They are absolutely adorable. You can see all of them
  • here.

    Thank you

...to everyone that left me a message after my last post. We will remember little Tom and thanks to my passion for scrapbooking we will always have some pics and LO's to remember him by:) These are the times when I'm especially grateful for this hobby because it makes me document the important things.

I received some great news the other day. You can read about it...
  • here
  • .
I would have loved to be in the other group but there is always a next time. I totally adore Prima products and will keep on trying :)

Last weekend I went to the Newcastle Craft & Quilt Fair and I must say the organizers did a fantastic job advertising the Fair. It was packed all three days. I shared a stand with Jo and Annette from
  • Memories2Remember
  • and we were really pleased with the amount of people that turned up. We are off again on Monday to the Melbourne Stitches and Craft Show. Come and see us if you live in the area...we will be teaching Hands On workshops like this one every day.

    A sad day...

...and I'm not sure how to tell the kids yet. As I was reversing the car in the driveway I could feel rolling over something and the next few minutes are just a blur. I remember things happening almost in slow motion. There was blood everywhere. Our little kitten that was only 3 months old met a very quick end but in my mind it seemed to last forever. To say I was upset would be an understatement. Max had taken a shine to Tiger Tom and I dread having to tell him that he will not be coming back.

  • I'm sure there will be many more during the week but these are my favourites so far, so expect to see some of their products in upcoming Kits:)

    MIA

Yes, once again all good intentions of blogging more regularly have fallen by the wayside. There seems to be always something more important to do then keeping this online diary. Life is very fast at the moment. Maybe things will slow down a bit once the kids go back to school. Unfortunately I don't have grandparents nearby to take the kids in school holidays for a day so I can get things done. I remember spending 2 or 3 weeks at a time with my grandparents when I was a child and I have such great memories from this time. My kids seem to miss out on this experience somewhat.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at One Mile Beach with 7 kids (not all ours...three different families:). They all had a ball!

    The
  • February Kit
  • is up and nearly sold out already even with the amount of Kits increased this month. Don't miss the
  • Gallery,
  • there is so much eye candy from the talented DT again!
Here are a couple of LO's.

    Designing Memories DT News!

    Congratulations to the new
  • Designing Memories
  • DT...
  • Kathie Link,
  • Yvette Adams,
  • Kristine Collins,
  • Kim Arnold,
  • and
  • Lusi Austin
  • !! I look forward to working with you all :)
Thank you to everyone that applied! The entries were all of very high standard and that made the selection process very difficult. In the end I chose more girls then originally planned but for everyone that missed out this time...I will regularly give new girls the chance to be part of the DT team.

The November Kit is now available on the site and we've had some wonderful work created by Loretta Grayson and Susan Johannes. Here is a link to the
  • Gallery.

  • There is also a Mini Kit available this month which is a cute Maya Road Box and scalloped Book!

If you were reading my last post you know about our passport troubles at the airport. Well, after spending most of Tuesday at the Passport office and having to get copies of several other documents (like birth certificates) we had 2 brand new Passports in our hands at 5.30pm. The flight was at 9pm, it was touch and go all day whether we would get there. And I'm glad we made it, it was a fantastic trip! We are now back to reality, like cooking, cleaning and washing :(( If you ever happen to plan a trip check out this resort

    Catching up...

I can't believe my last post was a month ago! It is amazing how quick time flies and just how busy we are at the moment. Last month we were heading off to the snow and I must say it was fantastic! I was really worried the kids wouldn't like it and chuck a wobbly after the first day but it really was a great family holiday. Romy and Max were skiing all over the mountain with us after 4 days. It just shows how quickly kids learn new skills. Coming back from the snow I had about 5 days to catch up on work and then I was off again to Germany, this time on my own. Catching up with family is so important to me and I try to fly home once a year. Saying goodbye wasn't so bad this time either since I knew mum and dad are coming to Australia in January. Not long to go:) While I was in Germany Steve took the kids to Ayers Rock and Alice Springs to visit his sister. What an adventure for the kids!!
On his way back Steve missed his flight and had to pay a fortune to get him and the kids home on another flight. And this is where our misfortune in terms of travelling started! On Wednesday I got back from Germany and Steve said "Guess what...? We are going to Thailand on Monday!" Right, not exactly what I want to hear when I just got of a plane travelling for the last 24 hours! But today we were on our way to the Airport again. And guess what...Romy's passport had expired! So home we went again since there was nothing we could do on a Public Holiday. Tomorrow we are off to get her passport renewed and hopefully we will then catch our re-booked flight at 9pm. Wish us luck!
Last but not least...I have put up a new
  • Limited Edition Kit
  • on the website. Well worth checking out:) Here is a little sneak peek at the
  • Gallery

  • I think this is the longest blog entry I ever wrote. Well done if you are still reading:)

    Off to the snow...

...we are off to the snow in a couple of hours! The kids are totally excited to see snow for the first time. I really hope they like it! I have nightmares thinking about..."Mum, I'm cold! Mum I'm wet! Mum I'm tired!"... all of this in a whining voice. I have to be positive and think about all the great photos I will be taking :))

Before we head off I thought I post some sneak peeks for the
  • October Kit
  • , available September 15. There are products from a lot of different manufacturers in this Kit.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

    Challenges

I'm loving all the challenges that are around at the moment and had a go at the current

    MIA

I have certainly not been showing this blog much love lately. Life has just been too busy, trade shows, school holidays, kids birthdays...the list goes on. BUT last night I scrapped a LO just for fun and it felt really good. The
  • One Little Word
  • Blog is about the power of words and at the moment the word is 'simplicity'. So I took the challenge using the
  • Designing Memories
  • August Kit. I really like this Blog because you get so many different interpretations of just the one word.

On to other news... the August Kit is up now at
  • Designing Memories
  • and it would be my favourite colour combo so far:) There are some amazing designs in the
  • Gallery
  • by this months Guest Designers Alli Paterson, Jane Fitchett and Charity Hassel!

    Brisbane...

We are back from Brisbane where my husband and I had a stand at the Scrapbook Expo over the long weekend. Yes, I made him work selling scrapbooking 'stuff' :) He didn't mind it too much though. It really was an experience. Never would I have thought how many hours of preparing and setting up go into a show like this. And there will not be much recovery time either with the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair starting soon. But it is fun too meeting so many people. When we got home yesterday I went straight to the computer changing the site over for the
  • July Kit.
  • Here it is...Fancy Pants, Melissa Frances and Sweetwater paper, Bling cardstock and a Hambly Border overlay. And let's not forget the Embossed Chipboard from My Minds Eye.

    Have a look at the
  • Gallery
  • too. We have some fantastic work in there this month from Mardi Winen, Kathie Link and Sara McMartin. I have also for the first time included some Bling cardstock for a double LO in the Kit. You will find some inspiration from Mardi and Kathie in the Gallery for double LO's.
This Lo is from the July Kit.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
